Paediatric dermatology

Our paediatric dermatology practice serves children of all ages in a warm and caring environment in the centre of Budapest.

Why a paediatric dermatologist?

Because we understand that children are not “little adults”. A child's skin is subject to many developmental changes and hormonal fluctuations that don't affect adult skin.

Certain skin conditions are unique to children, or present differently in children than in adults, which makes diagnosis tricky for general dermatologists who are not attuned to the nuances of children's skin. Paediatricians, in turn, may lack the specialised dermatological knowledge needed to diagnose and treat anything but the simplest childhood skin conditions.

An experienced eye recognises the signs sooner, which speeds up the diagnosis and the start of the right treatment, and spares both child and parent further unnecessary tests.

Just as importantly, caring for children takes a different manner, a different tone of voice and a friendly environment.

Fourteen years at Heim Pál Children's Hospital

It was during my university years that I realised I wanted to work with children. Perhaps it was their honesty and their particular sense of humour.

I count it a great privilege that I was able to spend fourteen years in the dermatology department of Heim Pál Children's Hospital, taking an active part in both inpatient and outpatient care. During those years I became the mother of two children, which helped me further in finding a common language with the little ones and in feeling with them.

What my patients write

A selection from the practice's Google reviews, translated from Hungarian.

My son and I saw the doctor and we were very satisfied. In state hospitals they spent two years just guessing what it might be; the doctor told us straight away what the problem was.

A fantastic place, I have nothing but good things to say. I go there every year for a mole check. Both the doctor and her assistant are very kind and knowledgeable.
